In this tutorial, you will learn How to Create Soft Smooth Skin in Lightroom.

Let’s take a look at taking an already good looking skin and taking it up a notch! We’ve already cleaned up some of the blemishes on the skin in Photoshop and have brought the image back into Lightroom. We’ll be using the adjustment brush to achieve skin smoothing that might oftentimes supersede the results that you get from Photoshop.

In Develop mode, press the K key and change the effect to Soften Skin. For the full on glamour photo style look, we’ll lower the sharpness a bit. Now let’s resize our brush and add a lot of feather to it. We’ll set flow to 66. Let’s go ahead and paint across the flatter part of the skin: we don’t want to be removing details where there is a lot, parts like the eye lashes, the eyes, eye brows and so on. This will smoothen the skin without destroying the pixel structure, that ends up looking smudgy.

While you can achieve a similar effect in Photoshop, Lightroom offers a tool that will yield great results much faster and easier!
